" Robbers Turn Good Citizens "

Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Gillani (R.A) was a young boy when he went on a journey with a caravan. His pious Mother [ SAYYEDAH UMMUL KHER (R.A)] stitched up forty Gold coins in his shirt. She advised him to speak the truth always. When the caravan entered a forest, a Gang of robbers fell on the travellers and snatched all their valuables.
A robber asked the boy (Hazrat Gillani) if he had something. The boy replied that he had forty Gold coins in his shirt. Another robber also asked the same question. He replied same. The robber took him to his chief. The chief asked him in surprise why he had spoken the truth about his money. The boy told the chief that his mother had advised him to speak the truth always. This had a deep effect on the Chief. He decided to give up his bad ways of earning livelihood. He disbanded the gang and advised all the members to live an honest life. In this way, HAZRAT ABDUL QADIR (R.A) changed the life of the robbers through his noble deed.
